Web Tip for Non-Profits: Network for Good
As customers increasingly feel comfortable donating to their favorite charities online, one organization has taken the lead in simplifying the process for nonprofits. Network for Good, founded in 2001 by the AOL Time Warner Foundation, AOL, Cisco, and Yahoo!, has developed an online network to allow any registered nonprofit to receive online donations. Even better, nonprofits receive 100% of the donations — there are no fees or costs and records are provided to all donors for tax purposes. MANOVERBOARD recently helped its client Young Citizens, Inc. to collect online donations through Network for Good's services.
Recommended Book on Web Design
If you are building or thinking of building or redesigning a website for your company or organization, The Elements of User Experience by Jesse James Garrett is a highly recommended manual to help ensure that the website you get is the website you need. The book clearly articulates how any site, from tiny to massive, should take into account strategy, customer interaction, information design, and visual consistency. It should save you and your Web designer much time, many resources, and a few serious headaches.
