November 2004: Designing Anew.

The MANOVERBOARD Telegraph, No. 15.

Welcome to the November 2004 MANOVERBOARD Telegraph. Lest another month pass us by without yet another Telegraph, we wanted to announce the launch of a new MANOVERBOARD-designed website. We'll also point out an excellent new design resource to which we're happily contributing.

Stonewater Control Systems

Based in Evanston, Illinois, Stonewater Control Systems had outgrown its corporate identity and website. The company came to MANOVERBOARD to redesign its logo and create an assured and sophisticated new website that would showcase its complex machine-to-machine technology solutions for many industries.

The new Stonewater website.

The company, which provides Internet-based remote communications and control platforms to customers such as Georgia Power, The Sacramento Municipal Utility District, and the Art Institute of Chicago, asked that its new logo clearly distinguish it as an innovator. MANOVERBOARD created an elegant text-based logo that uses spacing and color to convey the company's business emphasis on connection and control using technology.

For its new website, Stonewater requested a bold, compelling message that focuses on the many ways its technologies monitor, analyze and control other systems via the Internet. Using a striking orange, gray, and blue color palette, the new site works like the company's technologies—quickly, responsively, and usefully. The company also sought a simple means to add and modify news items and press releases. Movable Type was deployed on its homepage and news section to allow its staff to update, manage, post, and archive information on a regular basis.

Coming Soon: Updates, Sites and 2005 Calendars

You might have noticed that the MANOVERBOARD.com website has changed. The logo now features the color black. And the little red mascot of a man standing over a board has retired to a new state. Also of note, four new MANOVERBOARD-designed sites and projects will be launched in the coming weeks and months. Please stay tuned. Wishing you a very happy holiday.
