Hosting

As a service to many of our clients, MANOVERBOARD occasionally provides website hosting. We use two of the best hosting providers in the industry. Because of our faith in these companies and their systems, we host our own marketing and informational websites on these same accounts and monitor them regularly. In fact, we adore our hosts, as they make our jobs and lives easier.

If you host your site with MANOVERBOARD, you have agreed to our Hosting Terms of Service. It is your responsibility to review these terms every so often. As always, please let us know if you have any questions.

Payments to MANOVERBOARD

If you would like to make a payment, we've set up an easy-to-use payments page. The system works through PayPal (so it's safe and secure) and it accepts American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, eCheck, and, of course, PayPal.

Basecamp

With many projects, we use an online tool called Basecamp to keep track of email corresondence, store files, and stay organized. If we've sent you your username and password already, you can log in here. If you want us to use Basecamp with your project, just let us know!

Mailoverboard

Email newsletters are a fast and inexpensive way to keep in touch with customers. We've developed our own, supercool solution that our clients love. It's called Mailoverboard. As a value-added reseller with the best email newsletter provider in the industry, you can send huge numbers of customized, beautiful HTML emails. And the detailed reports you receive after every email campaign simply sing. If we've already sent you your username and password, you can log in here.

Writing for the Web

Writing for the Web is a bit different than other types of writing. The reality is that visitors to your site probably won't read much of the content in its entirety. Rather, they'll scan it, looking for headings, small paragraphs, bulleted lists, and bold and linked text.

Fortunately, there are a number of very helpful resources out there that provide some guidelines when writing for the Web. Below is just a short list, which we'll keep up to date.

Search engine optimization

Related to writing for the Web, optimizing your website for search engine placement is critically important for most businesses and organizations. When searching on the Web, the first few pages of results are pretty much the only results that most people will view. While good writing will help visitors engage with your site, good search engine optimization will help them find it in the first place.
