Manoverboard is a purpose-driven design firm that provides digital tools and strategy to principled businesses and organizations. As a Certified B Corporation, we help socially responsible businesses, mission-driven nonprofits, and educational institutions deliver ideas and connect meaningfully with audiences. We use design thinking in all of our work, delivering websites, identities, and strategy.
Our perfect partner is a business or organization that operates in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner while delivering substantive value to stakeholders and shareholders. The key to our success is helping businesses succeed and non-profits excel.
We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
Manoverboard’s mission is to help businesses create a better world by design.
We do this by sharing our design and market strategy expertise and by delivering the right communications tools to enhance our client’s performance. We do this with grace, integrity, honesty and vision—in other words, with purpose.
We take on great clients and help them combine strong messages with distinctive design and content strategy. Our clients reach farther, their teams fly higher, and their stakeholders are optimally served.
What is a B Corporation? B Corp certification is to sustainable business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk. B Corps are certified to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Today, there is a growing community of more than 2,000 Certified B Corps from 32 countries and 60 industries working together toward 1 unifying goal: to redefine success in business. Manoverboard is one of the first in Canada and the first B Corp in the province.
As a Certified B Corporation, Manoverboard aligns itself with other organizations that are using the power of business for social and environmental good. We are in good company. Other B Corps include Ben & Jerry’s, Hootsuite, Patagonia, Warby Parker, Method, and Etsy.
We have built our practice on a structured and humanized methodology of discovery, deliberation, and delivery. While our process is not very different from other design and marketing firms, it does ensure that you gain solutions and strategies with both integrity and purpose.
We discuss. Asking a series of critical questions allows us to gain a comprehensive and candid understanding of your business and its marketing, communication, and operational challenges. Our dialogue and discovery process help us change minds and inform the world.
We translate. After further discussion, research, and follow-up, we sit and think, draw and write. We then design concepts for your review and find the right platforms and technologies. Your feedback is critical to our success together so that our minimal aesthetic gains maximum impact.
We produce. The solutions we deliver are people-centered and thoughtfully produced. Your audiences will appreciate elegant design and thoughtful messaging. We provide the training and skills needed to succeed. And your team will enjoy website and administrative tools that they actually want to use.
We design and develop sites for desktop, smartphone and tablet. All of our sites are built to perform beautifully on mobile devices.
We develop original corporate identities, including logos, annual reports, stationery systems, and style guides. They all have tremendous lasting power.
We build careful market, communication, and content strategy, as well as website audits and inbound marketing. We tackle some of the toughest issues around content, including governance and workflow.
