Sustaining a high-quality web presence

In 2004, we were invited by Generation Investment Management – co-founded by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and former CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, David Blood – to create an online presence that would distinguish it from any other investment firm. Headquartered in London, U.K., Generation is an independent financial services firm that maintains a unique research platform that integrates sustainability research with equity analysis.

Since that time, we have been an active part of Generation’s ongoing marketing and communications initiatives. In our initial website engagement, we worked with Mr. Gore to develop a set of unique colour spectrums that would reflect the firm’s economic, social, and environmental focus.

“Integrating issues such as climate change into investment analysis is simply common sense.”

Working with London-based branding firm Promise in 2008, we took a close look at how the firm’s message was being received and set out to freshen the website. The resulting site was unlike any other in the investment space. With bold satellite photography of some of our earth’s more fragile ecosystems featured throughout the new website, Generation connected its mission, values, and role via visual content. We also worked with the firm to revamp its sales materials, reports, and other collateral.

We ultimately helped Generation launch its own foundation with a logo, an initial report, and the Generation Foundation website. This new site would reflect both the ethos and aspirations of the firm and focus on promoting and developing the concept of sustainable capitalism.

“Manoverboard is a great fit for a company like ours.”

Lila Preston, Generation Investment Management LLP

Manoverboard continues to support Generation and Generation Foundation with ongoing communication initiatives. We are honoured to work with organizations like Generation that are driven by values.

“The signs that the world is spinning out of kilter are increasingly difficult to misinterpret. The question is how to convince enough people to join a critical mass of urgent opinion, in the U.S. and the rest of the world.”
