We understand how important it is for many organizations and companies to be able to change and add web content on their own. The Women’s Enterprise Centre of Manitoba had been using a content management system for some time, but found it to be cumbersome, incomplete, and incompatible with their needs. The system, they said, felt dated “right out of the box”.
When they approached us to build a new website for them, they stressed how important it was for them to promote their many events and to profile their dynamic members – without complexity and without having to return to their web development company time and time again.
After learning about their organization and its important role in helping women to launch or expand their businesses, we sourced an appropriate platform for them and adapted it to suit their needs.
On the back end, we developed a system that was very easy to update. On the front end, we heeded the Centre’s plea for a contemporary design that was easy for the user to navigate. We also redesigned their membership directory and found a way to cleanly export it to the new site – fast and glitch-free – and we rescued some of their older blog entries and revived them in the new design.
Designing and developing this site was an iterative process. The Women’s Enterprise Centre was actively involved at key points along the way. The partnership paid off. They are thrilled with the site, and so are we.
