As a member organization of 1% for the Planet, Manoverboard gives the equivalent of one percent of all revenues to select nonprofit partners that are benefiting the environment.

We are a member of the nonprofit organization 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses, nonprofits, and individuals working together to create a healthy planet. The organization, founded in 2002 by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, has a mission of bringing dollars and doers together to accelerate smart environmental giving.
As a 1% for the Planet member, we are making a public commitment by donating one percent of revenue to a few selected and trusted nonprofits that are making a substantial difference in the world. These organizations are tackling better approaches to commuting, protecting wetlands and wildlife, and keeping harmful chemicals out of our water and air.
We have proudly selected three organizations that align with our philanthropic goals and meet our purpose-based criteria. All of the following organizations are nonprofit partners of 1% for the Planet. Each organizations has been addressing environmental challenges for at least 25 years. And all of these organizations care deeply about the future of our planet.
Ecojustice is Canada’s largest environmental law charity. Using strategic, innovative public interest lawsuits that lead to legal precedents, Ecojustice is delivering lasting solutions to urgent environmental problems. The organization is 100% donor funded and Manoverboard is proud to contribute to its work in protecting ocean life , reducing pesticides, and defending Indigenous land rights. Their careful, long-term approach to sustainability dovetails with the way we think.
Manitoba’s Green Action Centre delivers community programming and education on sustainable transportation, waste reduction, and green living. This committed nonprofit promotes greener and better living by sharing practical solutions and advocating for change. Through education and action, it strives to help Manitobans implement down-to-earth solutions to live green and well. We are supporting the Green Action Centre’s workplace commuter solutions, which is a program that offers policy alternatives as well as tracking and evaluation for greening our infrastructure.
Manoverboard has also provided pro bono work to Green Action Centre to assist in the development of its communications strategy.
Named after the award-winning scientist, environmentalist and broadcaster the David Suzuki Foundation works to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future. It collaborates with Canadians from all walks of life, including government and business, to conserve our environment and find solutions that will create a sustainable Canada through science-based research, education, and policy work. We are supporting the David Suzuki Foundation‘s Indigenous water rights issues, helping leaders take action to end boil-water advisories and advance remediation and restoration of precious wetlands.
